Psoriasis and Eczema by: M Szymanel
I have been dealing with these problems for the past year, and gratefully have gotten my body under control and just doing spot trearment with hydrocortisone. Bath in salts bath twice a week, message in peanut oil mixed with sesame oil, unscented, right after bathing or showering. Then message in a homemade body butter with sheabutter, coconut oil,avacodo oil, and several other ingredients. But the dermatologists have been treating my scalp as psoriasis/ dandruff/ eczema with hydrocortisone alone, when I noticed my irritation, severe scaling, loss of hair and folliculitis got somewhat better or really worse depending on the shampoo I was using, and I was searching for shampoos that met the National Psoriasis Foundation recommendations. I finally suggested that I might have allergies to ingrediants in most shampoos, since we had already found out I had developed atopic dermatitis since an illness in the past few years. Well, things are much better with the sample shampoo I came home with 2 weeks ago after a year of medications costing $300.00 to $500.00 a container. I don't like the conditioner, and am thinking of trying the shampoo and conditioner suggested on this site. But keep in mind that sometimes even dermatologists miss diagnose one condition for another, and don't be afraid to take charge. Do your own research, the internet can really be a big help. I diagnosed my own inverse psoriasis after being diagnosed for 8 years with a yeast infection, and,with the correct treatment, was finally clear in just 3 weeks. The shampoo and conditioner I am using is from Clean and Clear, but like I said, I would like to at least try the conditioner from the Cleure line because it contains Mango butter which I am wondering will be more softening for my hair. Hang in there, it does get better, but it sometimes requires trying different things to see what works for you. Different things work for different people. Asking others can be a big help.
