First, a Personal Note!

Spring is arriving where I am and it's SUCH a relief to hear the birds singing and to see a little sunshine once in a while. Even though I live in a place that is considered relatively sunny, it has been a VERY cloudy winter!

I have been feeling quite tired recently, and I haven't been able to sleep a lot and so I've developed dark circles under my eyes. I know I'm not alone, as in these stressful times so many of us are working hard!

Since I last wrote to you, both my husband and I got sick, which is quite unusual for us. We have been working very, very hard. Although we are doing the work that our hearts have called us to do, it is quite arduous for us.

On top of all this, my skin has been going crazy!! Rashes, skin eruptions, yikes!!! Our bodies talk to us, and I've learned that I really need to listen to what my body is saying to me.

Your Skin and It's Message to You

Our skin is the part of our bodies that interacts with the outside world. It not only protects us, but also helps our bodies to detoxify.

Have you heard the expression "thin skinned"? It is often used to indicate someone who is considered "too sensitive" or who doesn't have enough protection. Sometimes our skin eruptions and rashes are trying to tell us something.

When I am feeling stressed out, my skin is the first part of me to let me know. :-)

The Best Time to Make Positive Changes

Did you know that the change of seasons is one of the best times to make positive changes in your life? Your body can sense the changes in weather, and you begin to crave different foods and prepare for the new season.

So, whether you are seeing the arrival of springtime or autumn where you are, I encourage you to listen to your body. Let it tell you what it needs!

Maybe you are under too much stress and not taking the time to rest and do the things that are most nurturing and restorative. Maybe you are moving too fast, and not taking the time to eat in the ways that are best for your body.

Maybe you need some help to let go of those things that no longer serve you.

For me, I decided to let go of some of my many activities so that I have more time to rest. I have been giving myself permission to go a little slower with all the many things I'd like to do.

That means I am a bit behind where I'd like to be in developing new materials for you and for My Sensitive Skin Care! However, the good news is, that YOUR feedback which you have been so generously offering, I've been able to plan out our newest eBooks and supports for your sensitive skin!

How about you {!firstname_fix}? What kind of positive changes is your body asking you to make? I'd like to hear!

This Month's Homemade Skin Care Recipes

Well, like I said, I've been having trouble sleeping, and I look it! From what I've seen, I am not alone in having dark circles under the eyes. Are you looking a bit tired too? Here are some really gentle, simple recipes that you might like!

Affordable Skincare Recipe for Bags Under the Eyes

Yes, this one is SO simple, and so affordable! Simply slice a few thin pieces of organic potato that will fit over your eyes. Then lightly mist your face with pure water, lie down, and place the potato slices over your eyes.

Breathe deeply, relax, and imagine yourself deeply rested. Rest for 10 to 15 minutes and you will feel refreshed and your dark circles will be lighter!

Classic Cucumber Homemade Skincare Recipe

This is one we've all see, you know, those pictures of elegant women at spas with cucumber slices resting on their eyes! You can do that too {!firstname_fix}! It just takes a minute.

Slice two pieces or organic, unwaxed cucumbers. Lie down, place on your eyes and rest for a few minutes. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Energizing Home Skincare Recipe for Under Eye Circles

This one is great for early morning refreshment for your eyes. Wet two bags of organic green tea or black tea with warm water. Let them cool, wring out any excess water, then relax for a few minutes with the tea bags on your closed eyes, or under your eyes.

Relaxing Skincare Recipe for Dark Circles

This skincare recipe is for people who are NOT allergic to chamomile, ragweed, daisies or other similar plants!

Take two organic chamomile tea bags. Dip them in warm water, then allow to cool. Lie down for a few minutes and use the teabags as a compress for the area under your eyes.

Chamomile is relaxing and soothing and especially good if you are stressed out, Some people drink the tea at bedtime to get a better night's sleep.

Gentle Moisturizing Recipe for Under the Eyes

Massage a small amount of almond oil under your eyes for moisturizing, and to help reduce the puffiness and dark circles.

Facial Exercise to Reduce Bags Under the Eyes

Did you know that the right kind of facial exercise can reduce puffiness under the eyes, and can lift your who eye area? Although it won't take the place of sleep or good nutrition, it can make a huge difference in your appearance.

Here's one specifically designed to reduce under eye puffiness.

Place the tips of your fingers on your upper cheek bones, under your eyes so they are resting right below the place where you see those dark circles.

Now, gently, gently pull down just a bit, making sure you are not touching the actual under eye area, just the cheekbones. Hold and count to ten, then relax. Repeat up to five times. Breathe!

This exercise can be done daily to help reduce under eye puffiness. For best results, exercise your whole face using a program that is carefully designed to balance all parts of the face, otherwise you'll look a bit "bulky".

I use Carolyn's Facial Fitness program which has removed sags, bags, wrinkles, and even skin rashes from my skin with just 15 minutes a day.

{!firstname_fix}, I hope this newsletter has been helpful to you in managing your sensitive skin and finding ways to look and feel beautiful! If there's anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Best wishes,
