Hi Ruth, thanks for your message. Many times dry skin starts with our diet. When we do not eat enough of the healthy fats, this can cause dry skin. You can remedy this by keeping your diet simple, with many whole grains, legumes, vegetables and small amounts of natural fats, and staying away from too much refined and processed foods and sugars.
Dry sensitive skin can create a cycle when you try to help your skin by applying moisturizers, as many of these can contain chemicals which cause skin irritation.
for this reason we recommend gentle home remedies or safe hypoallergenic products that do not contain chemical irritants.
One of the best natural remedies for dry skin is shea butter which is soothing and good for sensitive skin. This is the main ingredient in our favorite line of ***z-cleure-hypoallergenic-products.shtml*** . Shea butter is also mild and gentle enough for sensitive areas.
There are a number of tips which can help your skin to retain moisture. Please see our article on Dry Sensitive Skin
